Questions & Answers

Q
Why choose a lower strand assembly over a higher strand assembly?
A
Lower strand assemblies are ideal when you only need a limited number of connections, keeping costs, size, and cable management simpler. Higher strand counts are used for backbone or high-density applications where many connections must run through a single cable.
Q
Does this cable require grounding at each end? If so, does it come with a ground lead attached to the steel armor as part of the pre-made assembly?
A
Bonding and grounding requirements depend on the specific installation, but standard practice is to bond and ground the metal armor whenever the cable is used outdoors, buried, or enters a building. This assembly does not include a factory-installed ground lead. For grounding, the installer would expose a small section of the armor at an appropriate location, attach an approved bonding/ground clamp, and connect the grounding conductor in accordance with local codes and site standards.
Q
Can these assemblies be deployed quickly in the field?
A
Yes. The push-pull locking mechanism and compatibility with heavy-duty Schill deployment reels allow for rapid setup, teardown, and transport, minimizing deployment time.
Q
Are these assemblies compatible with standard connectors and patch panels?
A
Yes. They are factory-terminated with standard connectors for plug-and-play integration with network equipment.
