Questions & Answers

Q
What is Micro Armor Fiber™ and why is it used in these assemblies?
A
Micro Armor Fiber™ is a revolutionary design that uses a stainless steel coil technology instead of traditional interlocking armor. This provides exceptional flexibility, crush resistance, and rodent resistance, all in a lightweight and compact form.
Q
Are indoor/outdoor assemblies flexible enough for tight bends?
A
While they are more rugged than indoor-only cables, they remain flexible enough for routing around corners and through cable trays without compromising fiber performance. Always check the spec sheet on your assembly for the maximum bend radius.
Q
How does the cable jacket prevent water damage?
A
Water-blocking materials and tight jacket construction prevent moisture from entering the fibers, protecting signal integrity even in wet or humid outdoor environments.
Q
Can indoor/outdoor cables be used in plenum spaces?
A
Yes. Many of our indoor/outdoor assemblies allow customization of the jacket rating and color. You can choose from riser rated with black or orange or plenum rated with an orange jacket.
Q
How do indoor/outdoor assemblies handle temperature changes?
A
They are built with jackets and materials that tolerate a wide range of temperatures, preventing expansion, contraction, or performance loss in varying environments.
